The most wonderful time of year
can quickly turn into a crazy time of year for most mom's I know. So why not take a night with your closest friends to relax, laugh and enjoy the season. I invited a few of my girlfriends over for dinner and a movie. One of my favorite traditions of the holiday season is watching my selection of Christmas movies. I have my favorites that are watched each year, the classics and some new ones. We decided on Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn, such a cute movie and perfect for a ladies night in.
I love adding candles to any table setting, I found these darling mini lanterns at the dollar store and they worked perfectly for this centerpiece.
Each guest received a little gift to take home. Each box was filled with delicious chocolates, then topped with a fun gift tag and mini wreath.
After dinner we all filled our cups with a festive drink and curled up on the couch for movie time. I made a big batch of hot chocolate with an adult twist.

I made sure to tell each lady to come in their cozy attire. Before the movie I treated everyone to a nice dinner. I kept the dinner and decorations pretty simple. I created a table in my living room by using a wood slab on a large ottoman, laid pillows out on the floor for each guest. The table was set up next to the fire, it created a cozy atmosphere where all the girls could get comfortable.
I set the table with buffalo check wrapping paper turned table runner, clipped a few cedar and holly sprigs from my yard, then laid them down the middle of the table. I kept the dishware simple with white plates, champagne flutes with stripey straws and copper plastic ware.
I took a small cedar sprig and tied to the knife and fork. So pretty and super simple.

I love that you can use already existing holiday decorations to spruce up any party. Look around your home and see what you have, no need to spend a bunch of money to make a pretty tablescape.
